CARES ACT

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) was signed into effect at the end of March. This legislation protects tenants from eviction due to non-payment of rent, but does not absolve the tenant of their duty and responsibility to pay their rent each month. Please see the attached flyer from HUD for more information.

Agency Wide Performance Evaluations

Every year, the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) evaluates both the Public Housing Program and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program against federal standards (minimums) for both programs. As well, an Annual Independent Audit is conducted to evaluate the financial status of WVHA as well as confirming a number of HUD-set program standards.
