** INVITATION FOR BIDS **

The West Valley Housing Authority (WVHA), formerly Polk County Housing Authority, will receive bids for the Pioneer Village Sidewalk Replacement Project until 3:00 p.m. on the 17th of June 2008, at 204 SW Walnut, Dallas, Oregon 97338.

The basic work includes
Replacement of damaged sidewalk with paver stones as per the Master Site Plan.  Minimum amount of square footage to be replaced will be 8,437 square feet throughout a four city block complex of 4-plexes.

All interested parties are encouraged to attend a pre-bid site meeting scheduled for 10:00 a.m.on the 3rd of June 2008 at 375 Taybin Road, NW in Salem, Oregon.

A bid security of 5% of the bid is required as prescribed in the “Instructions to Bidders”.  No bidder may withdraw their bid after the hour set for the opening thereof until after the lapse of sixty (60) days from the bid due date.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds.  The contractor and all subcontractors awarded this project must have a public works bond filed with the Construction Contractors Board before starting work on the project.  ORS 279C.830(3)

Attention is called to the provisions for equal employment opportunity, and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Project Manual.

As required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development:  Retainage is 10%, interest will not accrue on retainage and bonds or securities may not be substituted as an alternate form of retainage.

The WVHA may reject any bid not in compliance with the prescribed bidding procedures and requirements and may reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in the bidding.
